WARD Magazine Body Dysfunctional article.

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas Lock on February 21, 2011

WARD Magazine recently featured an article about Body Dysfunctional. It includes text from a collaborative project with Gemma Sharp, Adam Asnan and myself and stills from the film. Initiated as part of an Antepress residency at FormContent, over the period of a month, all three of us reflected on Body Dysfunctional and responded to each others writing on a wiki spaces page. The resulting text was then edited by Gemma and can be read here: http://issueone.wardmagazine.com/pages/04.html

Recreating Architectural Experience Through Film

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas Lock on September 7, 2010

This is a film that came out of a workshop I led in Norwich at OUTPOST gallery in conjunction with the AURORA film festival that took place in November 2009. We shot all the footage with black and white 16mm film at the U.E.A. The workshop participants/filmmakers were: David Latto, Charlie Crapmton and Elle Thompson. Louis Henderson assisted with running the workshop and no.w.here lab developed the film. Thanks to AURORA, OUTPOST gallery and everyone involved.

BREAKING POINTS

Posted in Uncategorized by Thomas Lock on September 7, 2010

This is a 3 minute video and sound extract from an installation work I began developing whilst studying at Le Fresnoy. The content of the work comes from a study made of bunkers across northern France. I collaborated with Hellicar and Lewis on the computer programming that controls the visuals and Robin Rimbaud/Scanner on the sound. The work is still in development and I will add more extracts when possible.

These works have been given to musicians to compose an original score;
classical, electronic, jazz, metal, originally recorded field sounds, animal noises and
spoken word will accompany the films on the night.
